Looking to move to open source
It has been a while since an update.
Secrets of Gaia IV (SoGIV) was my first real dive into making a game. When I started I had seen some other incredibly creative games in this genre, and I set out to make one of my own. For my first project I say I got pretty far. Gathering artwork, setting up a game system that for the most part worked, and setup a story that was nearly complete. Version 9.6 is probably the closest I got to finishing the game itself. Some of the endings are in there. Final puzzles are buggy and the main problem with not always being able to reach them.
I tried to do a complete rework, also using everything which I had learned over the entire process. I had released a version 10.X which had a lot of new cinematic elements, tried to add in a quest tracker, tried to redo the battle system so that it would feel relevant or interesting. I tried to do a lot of things. This is also hard when it's not your only job. Meanwhile, I tried to make a promise to only work on this instead of spending my free time on other projects which were starting to grab my interest and passion more and more.
I'm here to say that I want to move on, to be free to work on some other projects which I had put down to make this game, as well as work on a few other things. This means that I'm looking to stop work on SoGIV.
It also doesn't mean that the game has to die. It was funded by the community. With your help, you've given me the ability to pay back what I had spent to acquire real art from real artists, and even support some writing as well. In addition, I think this community has seen so many projects take off, but unfortunately not able to break orbit. So I'd like to give this game back to the community. I've reached out to some other developers in the community that have been helpful and supportive, but I'm now also reaching out to the community.
I'd like to see the game move more towards open source, or to have it supported by others that would be interested in continuing the game further. Please reach out to me if you are interested in such a capacity.
Thank you.

I've been keeping my eye on this game for a while and somehow never noticed this dev note. I kind of wish you had release the 10.X version publicly (here), even if as an alternate download to the 9.6 version.
I wholly understand the difficulties of feeling like you're being torn between different projects, especially when you're losing the drive to complete some of them.
Hopefully someone's willing to pick it up. I was really hoping to see the Breast Expansion route open up. But as it stands I don't think that's possible.
dont give up
even if this game gets put on hold i will always look forward to more adventures on this side of the galaxy plus i'm curious on what the other game you have is
I'd love to keep an eye on your work, but you banned me from your discord server for telling you there was a scam link in every channel. I'd like to be unbanned please, as I feel I've learned my lesson
i thank you for this awesome game you and your team have created and i cant wait to see you take the knowledge from this endeavor and use it not only to improve yourself but future project later on in life :D cant wait to see what you will make in the future and who know after gaining even more experience you may find yourself coming back to this game for nostalgia or new found motivation to improve on it or give it a sequel ether way whatever the future i hope its both worth it but most important FUN for you. :D
